Der Audio Technica AT-LP5X besitzt einen Direktantrieb sowie eine speziell entwickelte AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet-Stereokassette. Durch den Twist-Locking-Tonarm-Mechanismus lässt sich der Headshell schnell und einfach austauschen, der J-förmige Tonarm erinnert an die 60er und 70er Jahre. Für eine optimale Rotation auf der Achse sorgt der präzisionsgefertigte Plattenteller aus Aluminium-Druckguss. Eine 5mm Audio-Technica Dämpfungsmatte verbesserte Niederfrequenzgänge, zusätzlich kann das Gegengewicht für problemloses Spielen eingestellt werden. Antivibrations- und Dämpfungsmaterialien minimieren unerwünschte Resonanzen
